The Laid Back Jet-Set

By Kara Weymouth

It’s easy to see why the fashion world has fallen in love with supermodel Cara Delevigne. From her devil may care attitude to that sultry stare, she’s quickly become the Queen of the Laid Back Jet Set.

Luckily, as a model, she’s got the chic airport outfit down to a science: Flannel button down by Rails, a bomber jacket and megawatt shades. Because these days, nothing says glamour like an air of perfect dishevelment.

The 411 on M-61

We chatted with Bluemercury founder and CEO Marla Beck about M61, the new line she created for women who love all-natural, safe products that are as effective as a trip to the dermatologist. Here’s what she had to say about the collection:

Tell me about your line, M61:

I started researching for M61 seven years ago because we had clients coming in that wanted natural products that worked, and we had other clients coming in that loved the dermatologists’ products but they would read the ingredients list and say “I don’t want all this stuff!”. We really bridged the two worlds. We combined dermatologist-loved ingredients like gylocolic acid, salicylic acid, peptides, vitamin A, vitamin C with the natural world – Superfoods for your skin!

Superfoods – yum!

Some of my new products – the Jet Glow line, for example – has antioxidant rich gojji berry and red seaweed, so you can envision the firming from that and glycolic acid, which exfoliates the skin to deliver peptides deep down. The Hydraboost Cream, our first cream in a jar, has vitamin B5 and papaya in it – people think of papaya as an exfoliant, but it’s actually used as a healing ingredient in South America – when kids get bumps and bruises they put papaya on it – it’s very soothing, great for sunburn as well.

Who’s the client for M61?

It’s really made to wardrobe – just like nobody buys fashion from one brand, you may have a really nice designer jacket and wear it with a Zara top. We’re seeing older women use our Power Glow Peel with a La Mer moisturizer, or younger college students coming in. And interestingly, Asian clients and French clients have heard about the line and buying it – we have no idea how or why, but the Newbury Street manager said they are coming in and asking for the product.

What do you think appeals to them?

It’s clinical – there’s a list of 100 ingredients that can’t be in the products, and for the European clients that’s really important . They’re leading us in natural ingredients, and they have rules about the what can go into skincare – some ingredients are legal in the US and are not legal in Europe.

Gentlemen, choose fashionably

By Karen Morales

For the man who likes to dress well – and comfortably – for brisk weather, he can do no wrong in a pair of Gucci rubberized leather boots (top left). Or for a more luxurious look, Alexander McQueen calf leather and suede boots (bottom left) are a handsome option.

Style Icon: Katharine Hepburn

No one did menswear like Katharine Hepburn did in the 30’s and 40’s.

The talented actress was one of the first women to wear trousers, sporting wide leg pants and straight silhouettes. Her everyday staples included crisp collared button downs and blazers; a far cry from the glamorous and tailored dresses of the era.

Hepburn was also an avid golfer and tennis player, pioneering the way for sportswear chic. Her classic style can be emulated today, for a day in the office or a weekend trip to the summer beach house.

Kendall Jenner’s Off-Duty Parisian Style!

By Karen Morales

After walking the runway at Chanel’s Fall 2014 Haute Couture show in Paris, Kendell Jenner was spotted in her own chic yet understated off-duty style while shopping. The ensemble was an interesting mix of textures, blending a Barbara Bui reptile jacket and leather cropped top with not-so-basic black jeans by Hudson, complete with knee-pads and pocket zippers for days. But, with her Hudson skinny jeans and loafers, the model looked comfortable enough to explore the city all night. We say:

Definitely play copycat with this stylist It Girl’s killer street style!

The ever stylish Selena Gomez jetted off to the Mediterranean last weekend for the Ischia Global Film and Music Festival in Ischia, Italy. At night, Gomez made glamorous appearances at movie premieres, but during the day, she opted for rompers and playsuits to explore the Italian scenery.

On Saturday, Gomez was seen wearing a floral romper with white strappy sandals.

While attending a boat cruise on Sunday, the 22 year old actress and singer wore a sheer lace one-piece with embellished ankle strap heels.

Recreate the look with these favorite floral rompers and sexy spikes.
